Project Description
Song Writing and Production workshops are run during school holidays to introduce young people to the skills involved in recording and mixing their own track in a professional environment. Students spend two days learning and applying a number of song writing techniques including lyrics, groove, beat and chord progression. They work on creating a drum and base loop, over which they write and arrange an original song. Students then move to the studio to learn the basics of multi-tracking, live recording and mixing. They lay down and instrument on a multi-track recording and then perform and record their song live. The final day is spent doing a mix down.
