Hay Festival is back on the road, thanks to Welsh Government funding, bringing the Scribblers Tour to school children across Wales. The tour will be hosted in five Welsh Universities which includes the University of South Wales and Cardiff Metropolitan University, supported by First Campus staff.
We will be telling stories, asking questions and inspiring empathy and creativity through the power of writing.
We will also be starting conversations with young people to hear their voices and choices. Speakers and compères will spend time with the pupils, on and off the stage, to encourage these conversations throughout the tour.
If you would like to attend the Hay Festival Scribblers Tour at University of South Wales, Newport on Monday 15th and / or Monday 22nd January please complete the online booking form for the date you would like to attend. Places will be allocated in order of receipt and the deadline is Friday 1st December 2017.
If you are interested in attending the events being held at Cardiff Met please contact Phil Lambert. email@example.com
Venue and parking information will be sent with your booking confirmation.
Bookings will be confirmed by Tuesday 5th December 2017, so that you can apply for Arts Council Wales Go and See fund to cover travel costs. You must apply for the Go and See Fund at least 4 weeks before the Scribblers Tour.
You can also draw from your Pupil Deprivation Grant for the Scribblers Tour.
Please note that for the University of South Wales events, lunch is not provided by the University, but there will be a space provided for everyone to eat packed lunch. Please ensure that pupils and staff bring a packed lunch, a drink and a snack. In the case of children in receipt of free school meals please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Hay Festival will be supplying books for pupils and staff to purchase and have signed, with 99p discount off the RRP. Book sales will be cash only on the scribblers Tour.
