Year 7 secondary pupils and year 6 students from their catchment primary schools will be visiting USW City Campus in Newport to take part in the NDEC (National Digital Exploitation Centre) Digital Literacy Day.
Students will take part in events discussing how to keep yourself safe on the internet, such as keeping passwords safe and strong, cyber bullying and social engineering. Students will then break out into groups to work on planning a cyber security video, to be created on ipads back at their schools.
The School of Education at USW has created a resource for teachers to help with the planning and execution of this task. This resource details task stages and maps the works students will undertake to the Digital Competence Framework and the Literacy Framework, supporting the new curriculum in Wales.
