Project Description
The National Art & Design Saturday Club offer young people age 14-16 the opportunity to attend Saturday morning classes to study a range of aspects related to Art & Design.
The weekly sessions aim to explore multiple subjects within Art and Design using the specialist teaching facilities at Cardiff School of Art & Design, Cardiff Metropolitan University. Example subject areas will include textiles, ceramics, and illustration; all based around the overall theme of the Human Body.
Participants will have the opportunity in November to visit a gallery or museum in London (venue to be confirmed); have their work exhibited in Somerset House in June, and there attend a masterclass from a leading UK based artist in the spring term. In the last academic year we were very privileged to host a masterclass with Matt Jones, Creative Director of Google Creative Lab where participants looked at designing a ghost trap.
