Project Description
My Education was originally designed by First Campus to help parents in BME communities to better understand their children’s education. It supported parents and family members who were faced with the situation of their children going through an education system, that they had not experienced themselves.
The project created a DVD, a website and worked with pupils and engaged family members in the project.
In evaluating the original project, First Campus recognised that this model of parental engagement could be used across the region for family learning, to identify and overcome barriers to engagement with schools. In 2013, a second My Education project was created which focused on creating family learning opportunities.
Downloads are available from the final My Education report ‘Governor / Stakeholder Training and Seed Funding’ compiled by the Learning and Work Institute, December 2017.
