Cardiff School of Technologies have been working with pupils at Blaenycwm School in Brynmawr, Blaenau Gwent, to provide insight on the fascinating 500-year history of Humanoid Robots as well as the latest technologies including Google Glass, mind readers and flying drones.
The 24 young technologies enthusiasts from Blaenycwm School visited Cardiff Metropolitan University in March, where they attended workshops and learnt how to program a humanoid robot to dance or sing.
The pupils have been busy working on their Cardiff Met Humanoid Robotics Competition – Blaenycwm 2018 (Sponsored by OpticMusic Ltd) entries. On Friday 22nd the pupils, along with a parent /guardian, will be attending Cardiff Met to attend an Awards Ceremony, the winning entry will be announced by Stephanie Roberts, National Museum Wales. They will then have a visit to the National Museum Cardiff and have a tour of the KIZUNA: Japan | Wales | Design Exhibition.
