CWCHS Ambition Project

Project Description

To support transition and raise the aspirations of learners, year 7 pupils from the newly created Cardiff West Community High School (CWCHS) will work with Cardiff Metropolitan University and University of South Wales.

Building on the autumn term First Campus, with the support of students and staff from Cardiff Metropolitan University, will continue to aspire Year 7 pupils at CWCHS in creative education workshops throughout the academic year as part of the Creative Education Partnership.

The Creative Education Partnership aims to forge close working links between Cardiff’s education provision and its successful creative sector to raise the ambitions of pupils.

In the Autumn term Year 7 pupils undertook a tour of the facilities and took part in activities to find out about Creative Industries courses at University.

This term Cardiff Met are once again supporting workshops in Art & Dance and will also introduce Humanities and Food workshops.     CWCHS has placed a big emphasis on waste and the school environment, which will be used as a focus within the projects.   The outcomes of their projects will be showcased to families and the community on Monday 19th March.

The visit and workshops will contribute towards the 30 hours of creative education, which will be delivered to each pupil by the Creative Education Partnership, with which the schools is linked.
