Animation Workshop Programme

The Animation programme provides learners between 10 and 18 years the opportunity to attend workshops run by Turnip Starfish, an industry specialist, at the University of South Wales, Treforest, during the school holidays, throughout the year.

Project Description

The Animation programme provides learners between 10 and 18 years the opportunity to attend workshops run by Turnip Starfish, an industry specialist, at the University of South Wales, Treforest, during the school holidays, throughout the year. By working with industry experts and those who have studied animation at Higher Education, learners receive an insight into possible careers and University courses.

Animation workshops run throughout the academic year and culminate in the Animation Summer School, with a showing for friends and family; this allows learners to progress from one event to the next, should they wish.

Animation, games and visual effects has evolved and grown from a ‘bedroom industry’ to a position of major force within the entertainment media industry. The University of South Wales has graduates employed throughout the world with credits on blockbuster movies and computer games.

The October half term workshop is now full.  If you are interested in attending the February half-term workshop, please register your details.

Notes

There are places available at the workshop, priority will be given to those who have a Community First postcode, don’t worry we can check this.

Participants must be able to travel to the University of South Wales, Treforest Campus each day.
