Fifteen Year 8 girls visited the Sports Lab at Upper Glyntaf, followed by the Sports Park for an overview of the sport facilities at USW. The girls all play a variety of sports and have opted to study Sport at GCSE level. The aim of the visit was to highlight the types of Sport courses that you can study at university, as well as the careers that you could enter. There were undergraduate and postgraduate students assisting on the day, who provided an overview of their pathways and future plans.
During the visit, three brave volunteers went into the body composition tank for a calculation about their percentage body fat. Those who did not go into the tank observed at first, then they helped to direct the volunteers. The girls also visited the Environmental Chamber and Sports Labs. At the Sports Park there was a guided tour of the centre and facilities.
