First Campus, Reaching Wider team is seeking to appoint a dynamic and engaging Communications Coordinator to support the team’s work within South East Wales.
First Campus, Reaching Wider exists to widen access to higher education by tackling barriers to entry, progression and success in higher education.
Our mission is to engage young people aged 10 to 16 years, and adults 21 and over with no level 4 qualifications, from the bottom two quintiles of the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation. We also work with looked after children, care leavers and young carers to help reduce the barriers to education faced by these groups. We achieve this through offering a suite of long-term interventions to support attainment raising, increase awareness and provide support and progression to higher education and level 4 learning opportunities.
Our core First Campus values are:
Caring – Creating a culture where people feel valued, safe, heard, supported and respected.
Collaboration – Actively collaborating across our programme strands, partner HEI’s and externally for the mutual benefit of all.
Inclusion – Valuing and respecting the contribution of every individual, recognising and celebrating difference.
Reflection – Gaining insight on how to move forward by exploring and examining ourselves, our perspectives, attributes, experiences, actions and interactions personally and professionally.
Temporarily remote but will be permanently based at our Pontypridd Campus
This is a full time (37 hrs) fixed term post to 31st July, 2022.
Applications close 11th June, 2021
It is desirable that the Communications Coordinator can communicate fluently (verbal and writing) in Welsh, or is a Welsh learner, as the role requires bilingual content production.
