Confident Futures, funded by Cardiff University, is a project run for looked after children and care leavers between the ages of 14 and 19 to raise their aspirations and confidence.
English Literature Revision Project
Working with Pontypridd High School, First Campus have arranged for Year 10 pupils to attend revision sessions supporting the GCSE English Literature exam.
Travelling Ahead South East Forum
Travelling Ahead Wales Advice and Advocacy Service is part of the Welsh charity Tros Gynnal Plant. It is a project which works with young people and families from Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities to give them a voice about the things that matter to them and helps tackle hate crime and discrimination.
Uni Inspiration Day
Uni Inspiration Day is a one-day event for GCSE pupils, funded by First Campus and run by the Higher Education Roadshow, is a one-day event held twice a year, with the aim of raising the aspirations of Year 11 pupils from across Wales and promoting higher education.
Workshops for Visually Impaired Musicians
Bespoke music-making activities for musicians of all ages, with Jackie Clifton of Musicians In Focus, designed to increase participants’ confidence and skills.
Raising the aspirations of learners is one of First Campus’ main purposes, however in order to raise the aspirations of learners, Higher Education first needs to be demystified. Inviting schools to attend campus visits and providing opportunities for learners to talk to Undergraduate students are an effective mechanism for achieving this.
