Star Pupil is a play written by Tin Shed Theatre Co. especially for First Campus. The play follows the journey of Mr Peril, who did not go to High School as a child, but decides he is ready to go now. The performance is interactive and the children help Mr Peril to prepare for this big step.
Merthyr Musical Memories
The School of Music and Performance at the University of South Wales in collaboration with First Campus’s LOST AND FOUND project celebrated one of Merthyr’s many assets in that it sought to share and tell the very positive history of popular music activity in the town between the years 1955 and the mid 1970’s.
Workshops for Visually Impaired Musicians
Bespoke music-making activities for musicians of all ages, with Jackie Clifton of Musicians In Focus, designed to increase participants’ confidence and skills.
Creative Music Workshops
The Creative Music Workshops encourage and inspire young people to get involved in music and its creation in its basic form.
Raising the aspirations of learners is one of First Campus’ main purposes, however in order to raise the aspirations of learners, Higher Education first needs to be demystified. Inviting schools to attend campus visits and providing opportunities for learners to talk to Undergraduate students are an effective mechanism for achieving this.
