Welcome to First Campus

First Campus, a HEFCW funded Reaching Wider project.  First Campus is the South East Wales Reaching Wider partnership. Our mission is to engage young people aged 10 to 16 years, and adults 21 and over with no Higher Education qualifications, from the bottom two quintiles of the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation. We will also work with looked after children, care leavers and young carers to help reduce the barriers to education faced by these groups.

‘It’s been a very motivational experience. Many of my pupils were already thinking about coming to university but had no idea what to expect. This experience has made them realise exactly what university life is like and the variety of courses on offer. I think the opportunity to stay in the student halls has been amazing as the majority of pupils had no idea what to expect!’
