First Campus - Science Rap Video Competition

Science Rap Video Competition

Hands on Science are launching the first ever South East Wales Science Rap Competition!

We're looking for young people between the ages of 7 - 16 to write a rap or song about Physics and record a video of them performing it!

The competition is officially launched on Monday 24th Janaury at the Univsersity of Glmorgan (if you are interested in attending please email lerobert@glam.ac.uk for info.).

Winning entries will receive prizes including HD Flip Cameras, Vouchers, Science Packs and their school will win a years free subscription to Science Photo Library (www.sciencephoto.com), as well as the opportunity to perform your rap to a live audience!

Categories are KS2 (Year 5 & 6 Primary), KS3 (Year 7, 8 & 9 Secondary) and KS4 (Year 10 & 11 Secondary).

The competition is funded by the National HE STEM Programme and run in conjunction with Planet-SciCast (www.planet-scicast.com).

The Science Date 3.0 Apr 12, 2011 On 5th April 2011 five scientists working in South East Wales came face-to-face with 60 pupils from local secondary schools at the third annual Science Date event at UWIC's Cyncoed Campus. Woodland Walk Project Apr 12, 2011 Pupils from St Michael's Primary School in Treforest have recently taken part in a sustainability workshop programme with Hands on Science inspired by the Woodland Walk at the University of Glamorgan's Treforest Campus.
