The film, which has been premiered at two black-tie events in Cardiff, was produced as a joint initiative between First Campus and Tornado Films.  The production was brought off the ground by youngsters from across South East Wales who were gaining their first experience of working in film.  

First Campus wanted to highlight the range of experiences and background of the cast and crew, and how this opportunity has helped them to develop their skills and confidence.  A case study book has been produced and will be launched in schools this summer.  See below for a preview of the stories on offer. 

Thomas Sutch

My name is Thomas Sutch I am 17 years old, from Llantwit Major and currently applying to drama colleges. I went to Llantwit Major Comprehensive School and see my education there as a vital step as I want to go to drama college and without school I wouldn’t stand a chance of getting in. My future ambitions have never changed, for as long as I can remember I wanted to be a professional actor. 

I heard about the film project from my school drama teacher. I felt an experience like this would help with my acting ambitions and it was a rare opportunity and enjoyable experience.  The project has inspired me, I have always wanted to act but the experience made me realise how much I want to go into acting. My friends and family are very supportive of me and they believe this project was a massive experience for me.

There was a lot of work to do but compared to the tremendous amount of work Antony Smith did I don’t feel I had so much to do. My typical day started early and finished late and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  My experience on the project helped me decide that I wanted to go to college and study drama. Continuing education is more appealing to me now and my experience here will stay with me forever.

My fondest memory from the project was making so many new friends, on set we were like one big family. Anyone interested in a project like this should go for it. It is an opportunity that won’t come round too often.

For me this film was a massive learning curve. I have learnt so much about the industry and it has just made me want to go on into higher education and learn more and more.
