Job Title: Firsr Campus Coordinator
Based at: University of Wales Newportpaulgriffiths

Your Role

As one of two coordinators at Newport my role involves the design and delivery of programmes that raise the aspirations of young people and their parents for studying in higher education.  A key part of the role involves aligning programmes with new and existing progression pathways, and mapping provision to Welsh Government targets and agendas.

Example of a typical event/ typical day at work:
There is no typical day, which makes this job so enjoyable!  One day I may be running an event where I will meet the schools, coordinate the student ambassadors working on the event, and be involved in the general running of the day.  Another day I may be in meetings with academic staff and school teachers to discuss the design of a project, or may meet with University colleagues to discuss strategic direction and institution wide widening access provision.

Key tasks:

    To coordinate the events programme
    To manage budgets
    Line management of schools officers
To contribute to departmental strategic aims and objectives
To represent the First Campus project both internally and externally at meetings, events and conferences.

Favourite part of your job:
When young people get to see some of the amazing, cutting edge and innovative things produced by students and academics at University for the first time!
