| Medieval Ship Project |
|
Pupils from Newport, Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent have been involved in an exciting collaboration between First Campus and the Newport Medieval Ship project. The discovery of the ship in Newport has great historical significance as it is the oldest find of its kind in the UK. Pupils from Willowtown, Garnteg, Bryn Bach and Somerton primary schools were visited in school by one of the ship’s archaeologists for an introduction workshop. The pupils then visited the ship and museum on three separate occasions over a number of weeks for workshops which explored themes in history, geography, mathematics, drama, science, and archaeological techniques, through the medium of the medieval ship.
