Maths Day Out in Bath

First Campus teamed up with the Cardiff University Able and Talented Maths revision scheme to take 25 GCSE maths students to see an inspiring series of guest lectures that tied in to their maths studies.

The group caught a train to Bath and had lunch in Sally Lunns, Bath’s oldest tearooms, before visiting the Theatre Royal for the lectures on the maths of juggling and the maths behind computer gaming.

The talks were wide ranging and relevant to the students’ GCSE Maths.  Annika Young, the Hands on Science coordinator for First Campus, said ‘It was a really fun day out for everyone involved.  The lecturers really knew how to make the maths enjoyable, and all our students came away with more enthusiasm for their revision!’
