First Campus have hosted Language & Culture Days for year 8 pupils from schools across South East Wales. The young people came to the University of Wales, Newport to learn about 4 different countries: India, Pakistan, Sweden and China.
Each school was allocated to a main country for the morning session; they decorated their classroom using posters, flags and balloons in the countries colours. They also tasted some of the food from Liz Bailey, School’s Officer from First Campus said 'We live in a multi-cultural society and it is very important to learn about other cultures. As part of the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification, pupils are evidencing their learning about Wales, Europe and the World and this activity can help out in that area.' |
