What your job involves:

My role is to manage the First Campus project, which involves working collaboratively with all the universities and further education colleges within the partnership. 

I am responsible for submitting proposals for future funding for the project, currently we have funding until July 2010.   The proposals are strategic and respond to the Welsh Assembly Government’s current remits.    I regularly have to submit reports to show the progression of the project. 

Example of a typical event/ typical day at work :

No two days are alike, or even two weeks!  Every day is a challenge, whether it be calming troubled waters or promoting and reporting on the achievements of the project. 

Key tasks :

• To ensure the smooth running of the partnership
• To support all First Campus staff and colleagues with the strategic direction of the project
• To ensure we gain future funding
• Producing annual monitoring reports

Favourite part of your job :

I enjoy meeting and working with lots of different people and organisations– my role brings me into contact with people at all levels, from Welsh Assembly officials to school pupils.
