The First Campus Summer School gave pupils from Communities First target areas a taste of university life with film and animation training and a rock school. First Campus at the University of Glamorgan hosted the two-week event at the Atrium campus in Cardiff. Fifty talented pupils aged between 14 and 18 took part in the daily sessions, covering topics such as storyboarding, filming and editing. The First Campus Rock School gave pupils the chance to write, record and produce under the tuition of Grammy-nominated producer Dan Turner. Jane Ellis, First Campus Coordinator at Glamorgan said ‘This is a very rewarding event, the students that took part really enjoyed working in these subject areas and found the course motivating and inspiring.’ The school finished with a show at the Students’ Union attended by family and friends. |
