Digital Storytelling
Digital Storytelling for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Pupils. Deaf and hard of hearing pupils from St. Cenydd Comprehensive School watched excitedly as their own unique digital stories were screened at University of Wales, Newport.

Having participated in a program of digital storytelling workshops at the University, they were able to use basic media technology to create a digital “mini-movie” of themselves. Using photographs from home and a creative mind, pupils brought to life individual and personal stories to develop an exciting record of their life and interests.

digital storytellingThis program was one of a series, delivered to a number of deaf and hard of hearing pupils from schools across South East Wales in partnership with Charles and Gay Hampton (CHIIC). Both are profoundly deaf, and are committed to improving communication and access for all D/deaf and Disabled people.

The purpose of this initiative was to enable pupils to experience student life at a university campus and to develop transferable skills through exploration of an accessible learning tool that can be shared with their friends and family.
