A group of jazz musicians from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama visited St Mary the Virgin Primary School in cardiff recently for a First Campus music event.  More than 30  pupils took part and spent the morning working on composition and interpretation.  In the afternoon, the pupils performed the piece they had written to the rest of the school.  

Claire Hardy from St Mary's said that ‘The session was really well planned and set at just the right level for the age of the children. It is always tricky to get young children to compose and interpret music but I felt they got a lot out of the sessions.’
