Enterprise Skills Day
Entreprise Skills Day
The Enterprise Skills Day, supported by commercial, educational and government partners, offers a range of stimulating and challenging workshops centred on the key aspects of the ACRO ‘Understanding entrepreneurship’ Model. It encourages students to think strategically and innovatively about the skills required to run a successful business - including Attitude, Creativity, Relationships and Organisation.
The Enterprise Skills Day, which was held at Cardiff City Stadium on Friday (November 18th), brought together 120 of the most entrepreneurial college students from across south Wales and set them a series of skills based challenges. During the intensive skills, assessment day students were put through their paces in order to hone their creativity by innovating everyday objects, pitching and negotiating with event sponsors NatWest all whilst working as a team under pressure.
All students attending received training and mentorship from some of Wales' most successful start-up entrepreneurs, many of whom serve as Big Ideas Wales role models they also had an opportunity to continue their entrepreneurial journey by attending one of six follow on events.
One of which was 'Trading Places' which saw 36 of the wannabe moguls who had most impressed judges with their keen business acumen being invited to attend the Trading Places event in December. Trading Places provides students with an opportunity to manage stalls in a pop-up Christmas boutique in the Morgan Quarter within Cardiff city centre.
