Animation at Newport

A group of Animation Ambassadors, trained students from the University, have visited the school over a number of weeks, to help the pupils create a story board, a background and a set of characters.

hartdigeanim2The series of sessions culminated in a visit to campus to use Newport’s state of the art equipment to undertake the filming process using the Stop Animation Cameras.   Over the next six weeks, a number of other schools will visit hartridgeanimcampus to film their own animation.

Sam Jones, First Campus Coordinator from University of Wales Newport, said ‘These sessions are very demanding of the pupils; they are asked to use team working and communication skills to produce a creative piece of work in a limited period of time.  They also need to pick up new technical skills, and master the use of cameras and digital equipment.  We have all been very impressed by how hard they worked and I think they produced a fantastic piece of work’.
